Thornehill
Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire
Project Brief
One of Rise architects most recently completed projects in Berkhamsted, an existing 1950s house transformed it into a light, spacious and flexible family home.
The original house had four bedrooms, one very small bathroom, rusting single glazed Crittall windows, a turquoise Daintymaid kitchen and hadn't been altered since 1960!
Something needed to change and in the end almost everything did change!

Project Response
The project delivered a two storey side and rear extension, loft conversion, a beautiful open plan kitchen, three new bathrooms and a flowing connection to the garden and terrace.
One of the key design drivers was ensuring that the space flowed, and could work in a flexible way and that natural light was maximised.
The transformation of a tired, dark house into a family home, full of light and flowing space...
Key Features
